Sweater Fit Demystified Class

Sweater Fit Demystified

This class is designed to help you avoid many of the common pitfalls encountered in making sweaters that fit.  The topics that will be covered are:

Choosing the right sweater pattern for your body type;

Substituting the yarn called for in the pattern by comparing the yarn’s fiber content, construction, and characteristics;

Determining the right size by using your own body measurements, factoring in intended “ease,” and using the pattern schematics to determine size;

Understanding the connection between gauge and size and making adjustments to one or both to obtain proper fit; and

Knitting and blocking a properly-sized swatch to ascertain the all-important stitch and row gauges and to determine how your knitted fabric will respond to moisture and blocking.

Follow up this class with Make a Sweater with us. To get started stop by the shop, make an appointment for individual help or join us on our next Knit Along (KAL).  Graduates of either Sweater Making Series class will receive a 10% discount on yarn for this project.
